Waste Water Treatment is the process in which the waste water is treated by different methods. This helps humans to recycle the waste water to meet the water crisis.
Some of the methods patented are mentioned below.
Patent no: 4,100,073 titled ‘Waste-water treatment system’ with the abstract : A wastewater treatment system is provided for use in treating the sanitary and grey waste waters from individual homes in areas where subsurface disposal of these wastes is not feasible and where discharge of treated effluent to a body of surface water is permitted. All toilet wastes, bath and shower wastes, and kitchen wastewater can be treated by this process and system. These wastes are cleansed, disinfected and clarified prior to discharge to the receiving body of water. The system includes a septic tank, a dosing chamber, an enclosed sand filter, and a disinfection unit operatively connected to one another for progressive cleansing, clarification and disinfection of the wastewater.
Patent no: 7,097,762 titled ‘Modular waste water treatment system’ with the abstract: The modular waste water treatment system receives waste water from a waste water source containing organic waste and produces a treated water effluent. The modular system includes bioreactors and a bioreactor support module. The bioreactors receive a waste water mixture from the bioreactor support module and produce treated water substantially free of organic waste. The bioreactor support module is a transportable unit fabricated upon a frame adapted for transport by a truck upon a public roadway. The bioreactor support module includes items of equipment needed for conditioning waste water for intake by the bioreactors, items of equipment for receiving, processing and discharging treated water from the bioreactors and may include other items of equipment for receiving and processing other byproducts from the bioreactors. The transportable bioreactor support module is sized to support the operation of between one and preferably as many as six bioreactors. Accordingly, the modular waste water treatment system can be fabricated off site in a controlled shop environment, transported to a site, placed at a site and even later expanded to include additional bioreactors for increased capacity with a minimum of cost, time and effort.
Patent no: 6,360,898 titled ‘Filtration device for a waste water treatment system’ with the abstract: A filter and housing for waste water treatment includes a housing having a plurality of coaxially mounted vertically extending sections adaptable to receive a filter cartridge therein. An upper section is provided with an outlet consisting of at least two coaxially aligned rings of preselected diameters wherein the thickness of the rings and the spacing between the rings is sufficient to receive waste water treatment outlets of different diameters. The filter cartridge is comprised of a stacked arrangement of a plurality of disc-dam units wherein each disc-dam unit is provided with a serpentine configured first dam, the first dam extending upwardly from an upper surface of the disc-dam unit, the first dam having terminating ends spaced at outer terminating edges of the disc dam unit to define a cord segment there between. The terminating ends are connected by a second dam having a height less than the first dam. The serpentine configured first dam divides the disc-dam unit into an upstream side along the outer periphery and a downstream side along the inner periphery. Slots are positioned within the serpentine configured dam on the upstream side thereby providing flow communication with underlying disc-dam units. The top of the first dam is of a pre-selected height so as to provide a pre-selected spacing between the top of the first dam and the under surface of an overlying disc-dam unit.
